The modular house process
Thanks to all our sponsors we have managed to raise enough money to build a deserving family a new modular home. The modular house is made primarily from recycled wood that PSF gets from ACEROS Arequipa one of the largest steel mills in South America. A truck load of volunteers go down to the mill regularly and fill up the truck with whatever wood they can find. This usually consists of pallets, ply-wood and larger bits of 4" x 2" or the like. The wood gets taken to the PSF wood shop called 'Bollywood' where it is de-nailed and sorted according to what it can be used for. Bollywood is where all the wood construction takes place here in Pisco.
