Day 3 - pouring the concrete

Since the PSF truck is broken we have to carry everything to site. This meant that the first job of the day was to push the concrete mixer along the dirt roads of Pisco.
Once at site Sonya's husband was there Leman with concerns that the building was too narrow and could we make it one metre wider!!!! After all the consultation of yesterday, its a little frustrating. We explained to her that since the concrete mixer was here we needed to pour the site we had prepared yesterday and since F and I are so nice we will go back and extent a 4m length by 1m tomorrow making two rooms 4m x 4m and 3m x 5m.
We needed to put in a few more rebar stakes to use as a reference for our height before getting started with the concrete. The concrete took longer than expected as we had a new crew to concrete and the mixer was feeling particularly moody today and kept cutting out. There were 8 of us on the concrete pour and we were done with the 27m2 just after lunch with only the polishing to do. I really do not enjoy polishing concrete floors but it needed to be done. So on the hands and needs suspended on a board in the middle of the concrete with the trowel I went... I have blisters to prove how much work I did today :)
The hot shower was well earnt at the end of the day and the fried fish was a delightful break in the middle. Cant wait to see how this project comes today as it is my first modular home I have been involved with.
