View from the top of the Reunification palace
So what did day two in Saigon have in store for me...
I really wanted to head out to the traditional Vietnamese medicine museum and since it was early and the heat had not kicked in yet I went out on foot. An hour later after getting lost a few times I arrived at this beautiful 18th Century buidling that contained the museum. You receive an english speaking guide (a person not electronic guide) on arrival and since I was the only person there I had a personal tour of four floors of very well displayed artifacts. The building and artefacts were amazing, however I wanted more information on what were the key components and philosphy of healing all I managed to get was that lime, snake wine and beetles are important. My guide although lovely had limited English and I didnt want to embarass him by asking to many questions.
After a great bowl of pho in the markets I ventured off to the reunification palace - the rooms are a great example of 60s decor and the photographic exhibition and video room were fascinating.
Met up with Tony, Fi and Caleb that evening for dinner and some beers.
