Notre Dame

Tony and Caleb spoit me to a guided tour of Saigon that was much appreciated in order to get my bearings.

After the shuttle dropped us off on Dong Khoi we meandered up past the municipal theatre, people commitee hall to the renunification palace then down past Notre Dame to the post office. It is great to see a place that has kept all its layers from the past and I have heard that Hanoi is a better example of this so I cant wait to get there. Next was the buzzing Ben Thang market where we spent some time in the fish section as the fish leaped out of the bowl down my skirt and onto the floor - I thought I did a great job not to fall on my ass with my legs in the air. Classic moment that had everyone laughing.
The blonde haired blue eyed Caleb is a hit with the locals and is regualy taken from Tony's arms and whisked away to be admired by all.
Headed to the back packer district Pham Ngu Lao for lunch which was superb!
That afternoon I spent taking in the War Remnants museum which is a very visual account of the American War and its ongoing effects on society. It also included a beautiful display of local childrens art work portraying their hope for the future and peace.
